2021 Honda vs Nissan

Honda Odyssey Trim Levels

Both Honda and Nissan feature dependable cars and SUVs in all shapes and sizes. While they each offer something for everyone, which one is right for you? To help drivers in Gulfport, Long Beach, and Biloxi, MS, decide, Pat Peck Honda put the two brands up against each other in this Honda vs. Nissan comparison.

Reliable Sedans

Honda AccordThe Honda Accord is a stylish midsize sedan that offers a smooth ride and a comfortable interior. One of the things that makes it a great choice for both commuters and families is that comes with Honda Sensing®. This bundle of driver assistance features can help prevent accidents with technology such as:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Lane Keeping Assist System

The Nissan Altima is another dependable midsize sedan, but it can’t provide you with the same kind of peace of mind. Its Nissan Safety Shield® 360 system offers similar safety features, but they don’t come standard on every trim level the way Honda Sensing® does.

Both cars also offer good fuel economy. However, Honda offers an even more efficient option. The Honda Accord Hybrid can get up to an EPA-estimated 48 MPG city and 47 MPG highway.[i] The Nissan Altima is not available as a hybrid.

Versatile SUVs

Honda CR-V SpecsA dependable SUV should offer lots of space and enough power to haul some extra cargo when you need it. The Honda CR-V has a roomy interior with 39.2 cubic feet of trunk space. If you need to pack more, you can fold the back seats down and get up to 75.8 cubic feet of cargo room.

The Nissan Rogue has a similarly designed trunk with 39.3 cubic feet of space. However, with the backseats folded down it falls well short with only 70 cubic feet of cargo room.

Bring a boat or jet ski along is also easy with the Honda CR-V. It’s designed to tow up to 1,500 pounds. The Nissan Rogue can’t carry as much with its 1,102-pound towing capacity.

Roomy Hatchbacks

Hatchbacks offer more room that meets the eye. The Honda Fit is a perfect example. This compact car gives you up to 52.7 cubic feet of cargo room. It even features a big backseat with 39.3 inches of legroom for your passengers.

The Nissan LEAF is another sport hatchback, but it’s significantly smaller inside with only 30 cubic feet of cargo room. It’s also a tighter squeeze for your passengers with just 33.5 inches of second row legroom.
